Senior Accountant

Responsibilities

Support the monthly accounting close process by calculating, reviewing, and processing journal entries. Ensure the general ledger is complete, materially accurate, and closed timely in accordance with internal and external reporting standards.Maintain and reconcile fixed assets to the general ledger of the company.Manage sales and use tax, including preparation of returns, submissions, exemptions, related certificates, taxability analysis, and reconciliations.Oversee inventory management, focusing on reducing slow-moving and obsolete stock, and support periodic inventory cycle counts and adjustments.Review and approve costing of materials.Handle daily cash management, including agreeing terms with customers and suppliers.Supervise general office management duties, including responsibility for utility contracts, office supplies, and services.Analyze variances in materials, labor, and overheads, and communicate explanations to management with recommended actions to improve profitability.Participate in and support special projects.Collaborate with the finance team to ensure standardized monthly balance sheet reconciliations are prepared and reviewed according to policy.Maintain complete and accurate financial records for the plant in accordance with GAAP and IFRS.Assist with internal and external audits.

Essential Skills

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business.Over 5 years experience in accountingManufacturing experience preferredJob Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Ennis, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $60.00/hr.
