Job Title: Senior Accountant

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to oversee revenue recognition processes and contribute to the financial management of our organization. This role involves ensuring compliance with accounting standards and contributing to the enhancement of financial workflows.

Responsibilities

Analyze and audit the GL ensuring all entries are properly calculated, coded and categorized correctly.Investigate audit inquiries, resolve discrepancies, and address compliance issues.Oversee the full revenue recognition process in alignment with ASC 606, focusing on point-of-sale-driven activity.Complete monthly bank reconciliations for designated entities and related accounts.Evaluate product and service revenue streams to ensure proper accounting treatment.Prepare monthly revenue reconciliations, including validating POS system data against the general ledger.Confirm all monthly revenue activity is recorded accurately and on schedule, and compile corresponding financial statements.Review sales activity to identify and analyze deferred revenue impacts.Create and post monthly close entries tied to revenue, including necessary adjustments and reclassifications.Maintain detailed schedules and supporting documentation for all revenue-related accounts.Review and process corporate credit card transactions.Provide additional accounting support as needed, including tasks related to acquisitions.Participate in the annual audit process.Contribute to enhancements in revenue workflows, internal controls, and POS-to-ledger data integrations.Take on special assignments or other responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a closely related discipline.Minimum of 3 + years of general accounting experienceFamiliarity with technical accounting concepts, including ASC 606 revenue recognition, preferred.Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, PowerPoint, Access, and Excel including pivot tables and vlookups.Proficiency in posting journal entries and bank reconciliation and providing GL/reconciliation analysis.Experience with ERP systems, such as NetSuite, is preferred but open to other enterprise ERPs.Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

Work Environment

This is a fully onsite position, requiring hands-on interaction with financial systems and collaboration with team members. The work involves using advanced Excel functions and ERP systems to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.

This is a Contract position based out of Newport Beach, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $60.00/hr.
