Essential Responsibilities
Reviews bank reconciliations, GST/PST/QST returns, subledger to general ledger reconciliations and journal entriesReviews US sales tax returns and provide support on investigating variancesProvides support on reviewing some of the more complex balance sheet account reconciliationsOversees the job insurance cycle including preparation of monthly uploads, posting of job insurance and coordinating annual renewals and true upsGuides the junior and intermediate accountants with any questions they have related to their work flow and cross-trains on activities of, and provides coverageDevelops standardized analysis and reconciliation templates for use by the Intermediate AccountantsPrepares donations summary for the Ledcor Cares program and ensures accuracy in preparing all payments to charitiesGenerates and review financial statements for tax reporting and propose tax adjusting journal entries as requiredPrepare annual tax working papers including apprenticeship tax credits, lumpsum analysis and intercompany analysis etc.Reviews and supports the annual provincial earnings allocation analysisProvides support, as needed, for the year end and interim auditPrepares analysis and response support for various tax authority audits, such as GST and PSTMay perform other related duties as assignedQualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalentCPA designationMinimum 3-5 years of accounting experience in a multi-entity environmentBackground in the areas of audit and consolidation requiredThe ability to identify issues and interpret and apply accounting standardsProficiency in JD Edwards is an asset or large ERP experienceStrong analytical skills with an attention to detail and ability to multi-task, set priorities and meet tight deadlinesExcellent communication, interpersonal, management, and organization skills;Works independently, manages multiple tasks, and sets priorities;Commitment to continuous improvement and excellent customer serviceGood working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, with expert knowledge of ExcelWork Conditions
This is a Hybrid position working from the office 1-2 days a week with the understanding that you may be required to additionally attend the office as business needs requiresCompensation
$76,400.00 - $105,050.00This is the expected base pay range for this role. Individual base pay will be determined based on a variety of factors including experience, knowledge, skills, education and location.
