Senior Accountant
Job Title: Senior AccountantJob Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant who will play a vital role in ensuring the integrity and accuracy of our financial operations. This role involves auditing accounts, conducting cost systems studies, maintaining financial records, and recommending improvements to existing accounting policies. The ideal candidate will have the ability to lead tasks, guide less experienced staff, and contribute to process improvements.

ResponsibilitiesAudit accounts to ensure adherence to corporate policy.Conduct cost systems studies.Ensure the integrity of expense, tax, insurance, overhead, accounts payable & receivables, and special fund amounts.Lead tasks or aspects of a task or project, providing guidance to less experienced staff members.Recommend improvements to accounting policies and procedures.Support, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, values, and culture of the organization.Apply accounting principles to monitor and analyze financial information and prepare specialized reports.Balance books and prepare accounting statements such as profit/loss, income, cash flow, etc., and schedules.Record assets, liabilities, and other financial transactions.Maintain records of disbursements and expenses.Review accounts and reports for accuracy.Contribute to the design or modification of accounting systems.Improve processes and procedures that accurately capture, track, and report financial transactions.Ensure adherence to and communication of accounting policies and procedures.Essential SkillsAccounting expertise.Experience with general ledger and reconciliation.Proficiency in journal entry and reporting.Experience in corporate and governmental accounting.Security clearance.Month-end accounting processes.Experience with government contracts.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting.5+ years of directly related experience, preferably in a government contracting environment, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.Direct experience with preparing and reviewing journal entries and account reconciliation.Power Query experience is highly desired.Work Environment

Enjoy a great work environment with growth opportunities. This position is mostly remote but requires availability onsite 4-6 times per month or as needed. The work environment includes an onsite office setting where candidates will contribute significantly to financial operations.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $90000.00/yr.
