Senior Accountant

Job Description

The Senior Accountant position involves assisting with month-end close, troubleshooting issues with daily, weekly, and monthly tasks, and handling complex accounting concepts. The role requires obtaining and maintaining a thorough understanding of financial reporting and general ledger structure to ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close. The Senior Accountant will also fill in and troubleshoot issues with Accounts Payable, Receivable, Banking, and Payroll activities, ensuring all financial reporting deadlines are met.

Responsibilities

Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll and positive pay transactions.Prepare annual and quarterly Bank Compliance reports accurately and promptly.Assist with the timely completion of corporate income returns, employment tax returns, and period close activities.Manage a clean and timely year-end audit.Support budget, forecasting, and analysis activities.Monitor and analyze department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.3-5 years of experience at a Sr. Accountant level.

Skills and Qualifications Required

1+ years of experience working with a publicly traded company.Ability to mentor others.Solid understanding of SOX, sales tax, and GAAP.Proficiency in accounting, general ledger, reconciliation, month end, SOX compliance, and financial reporting.

Work Environment

This is a contract to hire position, with the potential to convert after six months. The work environment supports a collaborative and resourceful team, with an emphasis on maintaining accuracy and efficiency in accounting operations.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $48.00/hr.
