Senior Accountant
Job Title: Senior AccountantJob Description As a Senior Accountant, you will handle daily accounting tasks including maintaining the books, making journal entries, and conducting account reconciliations. You will be responsible for managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, company assets, and assisting with payroll. You will also prepare and review financial reports monthly, quarterly, and annually, ensuring compliance with GAAP. Responsibilities + Manage company banking activities, including account checks, transfers, deposits, and collaborations with banks. + Monitor company cash flow and predict future financial needs. + Assist with audits by organizing necessary documents and responding to inquiries. + Ensure compliance with tax regulations, including sales tax and 1099 forms. + Collaborate with operations to track costs, profits, inventory, and project finances. + Accurately and timely close the books each month, quarter, and year using SAP. + Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes, explaining variances between actual and planned figures. + Develop and enhance processes and controls to maintain accounting accuracy and minimize risk. + Provide reports and financial analysis to meet leadership's needs. + Perform other tasks as assigned by the manager. Essential Skills + Proficiency in accounting, general ledger maintenance, and reconciliation. + Expertise in accounts payable and accounts receivable. + Strong reporting and forecasting abilities. + Experience with SAP and tax-related tasks including sales tax and 1099 forms. + Competence in month-end closing and fixed asset management. + Proficiency in using Pivot tables. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA is a plus. + Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance; experience in manufacturing is preferred. + Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting. + Exceptional data analysis and problem-solving skills. + Excellent time management and organizational abilities, adaptable to changing priorities. + Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with diverse teams. + Integrity, attention to detail, and confidentiality in handling sensitive information. + Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. + Familiarity with sales tax tools (such as Vertex) and reporting systems is advantageous. + Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle Netsuite, etc.) is preferred; experience with ERP migration is a bonus. Work Environment This position is based in the office from Monday to Friday. The work environment offers great benefits and yearly bonuses. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rochester, IN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $37.00 - $52.89/hr.
