About the Role
This position plays a key role in supporting the Director of Finance by overseeing all hotel accounting operations, ensuring compliance with local VAT regulations, implementing internal controls, managing financial statements and reconciliations, supervising the accounting team, and driving process improvements and system implementations.
Key Responsibilities
Supporting the Director of Finance during the monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements (independent preparation of various closing entries)
Implementing and streamlining of all internal control processes; covering all accounting activities in the hotel.
Focus on applicating all local VAT regulations.
Control of weekly supplier collective payments and individual payments.
Support with the implementation of new applications and new systems in general.
Assistance in training new team members and trainees and introduction of new colleagues
Supervision of the Accounting Clerks.
Management of the archive.
Preparation and updating of various accounting-related "Policies Procedures".
Accounts receivable and accounts payable, dunning process.
Implementation and development of various accounting templates for the month-end closing and year-end closing as well active assistance with the corresponding financial statements, as well as evaluation of the PL and the associated account reconciliations
Proactiveness in implementing new local laws, regulations and legislations.
Added bonus is knowledge of USALI

If you have a minimum of 2 years of work experience in a similar position within the hospitality sector, along with mandatory expert knowledge of Croatian legal and regulatory frameworks as well as accounting practices, we look forward to hearing from you
