Follow Zones, LLC on Twitter @Zones, and LinkedIn and Facebook. Position Overview: The Senior Accountant position plays a pivotal role not only within the Zones Accounting team but also as a key, collaborative partner with sales and operations.  As the Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for a variety of accounting responsibilities including timely and accurate recording of business activity in accordance with GAAP, prepare month-end/quarter-end journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations, financial analysis, audit support and financial reporting. Identify and implement process improvements that increase accuracy and efficiency. Identify trends or issues that require management’s attention; demonstrate ability to understand broad business and financial issues. Concise communication skills are key – written and verbal.  This role is required to be onsite at the HQ1 a minimum of Tuesday and Thursday each week, with additional time onsite as required. What you’ll do as the Senior Accountant:The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.  This job description is not intended to be a comprehensive list of the duties and responsibilities of the position, and the duties and responsibilities may change without notice Complete month end journal entries, analyses and account reconciliations as assignedOversee/lead operational processes and partner with the business to streamlinePartner cross functionally to clearly communicate accounting operations with other departments to ensure operational excellencePerform in a high volume, deadline driven role, reporting in line with the group timetable Participate in revenue accounting process by ensuring proper revenue and cost recognition in accordance with GAAPIdentify and propose changes to inefficient or ineffective internal policies and proceduresProvide insightful analysis and understanding of performance monthly for both finance and operations leadership teamsAssist and comply with external auditing and reporting requirements, preparing necessary prepared by client documentationFunction as a utility player for special projects and ad-hoc requests  What you will bring to the team: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required5+ years of progressive experience in Accounting or Finance with emphasis in preparing journal entries and balance sheet reconciliationsIntermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skillsConceptual and practical understanding of U.S. generally accepted accounting principlesStrong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skillsSelf-starter with a problem solving, “Can Do” mentalityTeam player with amazing verbal and written communication skillsAbility and desire to adapt quickly to changeGood analytical skills and critical thinking requiredDetail oriented with good organization and time management skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsRevenue and/or cost accounting experience (preferred)CPA or CPA eligible (preferred)Ability to reconcile complex general ledger account, journal entries and financial statement analysis (GAAP knowledge and accounting research skills a plus)Experience working within a large ERP system; MSFT D365 experience a plus Qualified candidates can expect a salary range of $80,000 - $105,000#LI-KS1 Zones offers a comprehensive Benefits package
