Job Title: Senior Accountant
Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and self-motivated Senior Accountant to join our team. The role involves recording and posting journal entries, managing and reconciling general ledger and subsidiary accounts, and carrying out routine accounting tasks and internal controls. You will contribute to maintaining accounting records for the parent holding company and handle diverse transactions and account types. Additional responsibilities include supporting daily operations in the accounts payable process and assisting with the preparation of financial, board, and regulatory reports.

ResponsibilitiesRecord and post journal entries accurately and timely.Manage and reconcile general ledger and subsidiary accounts related to assets.Execute routine accounting tasks and internal controls for cash, investments, fixed assets, leases, prepaid expenses, and other accounts.Contribute to maintaining accounting records and handling diverse transactions.Provide support for daily operations of the accounts payable process.Assist with the preparation of financial, board, and regulatory reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.Compile analytical reports and data summaries as needed.Develop and maintain documentation for desktop workflows and standard operating procedures.Perform daily and monthly reconciliations of general ledger accounts.Offer training and serve as a backup resource for other accounting team members.Respond to auditor and examiner requests during year-end audits, internal reviews, and periodic evaluations.Carry out additional tasks as assigned.Essential SkillsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field.Minimum of three years of progressive experience in accounting.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and familiarity with accounting software.Strong communication and analytical abilities.Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and well-organized.Problem-solving capabilities and ability to maintain confidentiality.Experience with general ledger management, reconciliation, and account reconciliations.Additional Skills & QualificationsCPA certification is preferred but not mandatory.Background in public accounting is a plus.Experience with FIS, AvidXchange, and BlackLine is advantageous.Comfortable collaborating with colleagues across departments.Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs.Experience in the banking industry is highly preferred.Work Environment

Join a collaborative and friendly team of four, including an Assistant Controller, Accounting Manager, Senior Accountant (this role), and a Staff Accountant. We value team players who are personable and willing to collaborate. The role requires strong Excel skills and the ability to perform onsite duties. Performance is measured by the ability to accurately close books every month within a 5-day close process.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Irvine, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.67 - $55.29/hr.
