Position Overview:

What you may not know is how our Finance Team provides analysis, insight and support for strategy development/deployment and key initiative oversight and skillfully prepares and examines the financial records for two bakeries producing 40,000 cheesecakes daily.
As the Senior Accountant you play a critical role in maintaining the general ledger, preparing journal entries, performing account reconciliations, assisting with the audit preparation and requests, and performing other accounting duties as assigned. Reporting to the Sr. Accounting Manager, you will have the opportunity to work with different members of the accounting and financial reporting teams, and you will be involved in the month-end closing process and financial statement reviews.

Play an active role in the month-end close process including preparing monthly & quarterly journal entries.Prepare monthly & quarterly account reconciliation and analysis such as prepaids, property tax, gift cards and other.Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and improve on the process.Prepare and review analysis and comparisons of actual results to historical trend/budget.Assist with annual and quarterly budgeting and financial forecasting. Assist with quarterly financial and SOX audit by working directly with internal and external auditors to fulfill requests for supporting documentation.Complete ad hoc projects to support the accounting, reporting, and finance operations, as needed.Maintain effective internal controls to ensure transactions follow Company policies and are properly reflected on the financial statements. Provide assistance and coverage as needed to the wider finance team.Must be able to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.Work cross functionally with departments throughout the company.Document accounting and control procedures, including process manuals.
What we require:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting / finance or related field5+ years of general accounting experienceSound knowledge of GAAPSolid analytical, problem solving, verbal and written communication skillsStrong Excel skills (lookups, pivot tables)Knowledge of ERP systemsDetail-oriented and accurateUnderstands public company month-end close processes with importance of meeting deadlinesProven ability to collaborate with other departmentsAble to work independently and as a team member
