Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Senior Accountant to join our dynamic team on a full-time basis. Based in Langley, BC, this role involves supporting the accounting and finance team. The Senior Accountant will coordinate and deliver financial statements, prepare financial schedules, and ensure compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
Responsibilities
Prepare and deliver financial statements while ensuring compliance with IFRS.Analyze and explain variances to budget on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.Maintain monthly schedules and post monthly journal entries, including management and import fees, working capital interest, and banking entries.Prepare, review, and update accruals for expenses, ensuring balance sheet reconciliations align with the general ledger.Assist in treasury duties and oversee the maintenance of the Agility chart of accounts.Mentor junior team members and assist with the design, configuration, and testing of system process improvements.Prepare quarterly audit schedules and working papers.Conduct complex bank reconciliations and prepare internal and external ad hoc reports.Respond to financial surveys, internal control, and external audit requests.Support compliance with IFRS standards.Essential Skills
CPA designation or in the final stages of obtaining one (CMA, CGA, CA).Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, reconciliation, and financial reporting.Experience preparing financial reports and conducting variance analysis with commentary.Proficiency in month-end close processes and financial statement preparation.Experience working under IFRS standards and budgeting.Advanced Excel skills, including proficiency in VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, IF formulas, and pivot tables.Experience in a multi-currency and multi-entity environment.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Background in distribution.Experience working across multiple systems within one organization.Track record of leading process improvement projects.Experience in a publicly traded company or public practice with large clients.Work Environment
This role is part of a large, stable, and profitable organization with exposure to working with a CFO and CEO. It involves a hybrid work environment, requiring two days in the office in Langley, BC. The team comprises a 20-person executive and accounting office, with 4 on the FP&A team and 12 on the accounting team. Standard working hours are from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM or 9 AM to 5 PM, with additional hours required during quarter and year-end.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $90000.00/yr.
