Thermo Fisher Scientific, Inc.’s Transplant Diagnostics business ("TDX") is seeking a knowledgeable and dynamic Sr Accountant with leadership aspirations to join our team in West Hills, CA.

About the Team

The TDX Controllership team handles core accounting responsibilities, and partners with leaders to ensure accurate and timely financial information is available to drive business decisions.

The successful candidate will partner with Accounting, Finance, Operations, and Business Management teams to support successful month-end closes, solicit and apply relevant financial and operational information impacting financial reporting, and support special projects and operational improvements. This role will be involved in Accounting processes standardizations, Financial reconciliations, day-to-day Accounts Receivable/ Revenue related tasks, tax compliance, and support during internal/external audit activities.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Performing diverse monthly and quarterly accounting close activities as assigned, including: Journal Entries, GL Account Reconciliation prep, clearance of reconciling items.

• Fixed Asset Management – Assist business partners and Finance team in: Appropriation Request generation and routing for approval, application of Accounting Policy towards CAPEX and OpEx spend, and review of Fixed Asset reconciliation and roll-forward schedules to ensure accuracy in Fixed Assets accounting and timely progress towards CIP completion.

• Revenue Recognition – Support compliance with ASC 606 and application of internal Accounting Policy, key spreadsheets, post accrued/ deferred revenue aligned with company revenue recognition policy.

• Support Sales and Use Tax filings.

• Drive compliance with internal Procument and Sales procedures.

• Perform financial statement analyses, and documenting meaningful explanations of fluctuations for management and auditors.

• Participation in external and internal audits.

• Be a key business partner to business operations leaders to meet financial goals.

• Analyze metrics, trends, and performance and bring insights to division leadership team.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.

• 6+ years of work experience in Accounting or Finance, ideally with exposure to Accounts Receivable and Procurement, Revenue, Intercompany, Royalties and/or Sales Tax.

• Strong knowledge of current US GAAP required.

• Strong SAP systems experience preferred.

• Knowledge of standard finance systems (e.g. SAP, Hyperion, HFM, CMR, Oracle, Blackline).

• Intermediate-Advanced Skills in Microsoft suite, including: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

• Comfortable with large, sophisticated data and communicating findings to senior management.

• Proactiveness in problem solving, trouble shooting, and root cause and ad-hoc analyses.

• Strong attention to detail with an ability to work well with others.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $103,100.00–$155,000.00.
