A highly respected insurance company, recognized nationally for its financial strength and innovation, is seeking a skilled Senior Accountant to join its accounting team. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and supporting strategic financial initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in GAAP and statutory accounting, experience in P&C insurance or financial services, and the ability to collaborate across business functions including claims, underwriting, and actuarial.This position offers competitive compensation, excellent benefits, and the chance to contribute to a values-driven organization that has been consistently recognized for its stability and growth. This role also has the potential to backfill leadership duties as time progresses. ResponsibilitiesPrepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with NAIC statutory principles.Assist with regulatory filings including Annual Statement, Risk-Based Capital report, and MD&A.Reconcile general ledger accounts, journal entries, and transactions across premiums, losses, reinsurance, and investments.Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis for management.Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures.Partner with auditors and regulatory examiners.Collaborate with actuarial, claims, and underwriting teams to validate financial data.Monitor and assess changes in accounting standards and insurance regulations.Qualifications and StrengthsBachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.CPA, CGMA, or CPCU designation preferred.7+ years of progressive accounting experience.Property & Casualty insurance industry experience strongly preferred.Investment or tax accounting exposure a plus.Strong Excel and financial systems skills with attention to detail and accuracy.Benefits and PerksComprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance.401(k) with employer match.Paid time off and company holidays.Supportive and collaborative team environment.Opportunities for career growth and professional development.Your New Organization
