Job Summary:
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end close, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This role requires strong technical accounting skills, the ability to analyze financial data, and a focus on improving processes while supporting overall business operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee project/job cost accounting, ensuring accurate tracking of revenues, costs, and profitabilityPrepare and review work-in-progress (WIP) schedules, project forecasts, and variance analysisManage revenue recognition in accordance with contract terms and accounting standardsReconcile project accounts, billing, and retention receivables on a monthly basisPartner with project managers to provide financial reporting, budget tracking, and performance analysisSupport month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries and reconciliationsAssist with audits, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external requirements

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field3-5+ years of accounting experience, with emphasis on job costing/project accountingStrong knowledge of GAAP and revenue recognition principlesProficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP/accounting systems (e.g., Sage, Viewpoint, QuickBooks, or similar)Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skillsAbility to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and collaborate with cross-functional teams
