Job Description

The Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting the financial operations of the Company by providing accounting, compliance, analysis, reporting and reconciliations to support month end close. This is a hybrid role.

Key Areas of Responsibility

Complete assigned tasks as regular part of month end closing process in accordance with month end closing schedule.Compile and analyze financial information to prepare journal entries documenting business transactions related to each month-end close.Participate in organization, compilation, and preparation of external audit requests.Maintain reconciliations for balance sheet accounts.Prepare monthly accruals for all of revenue that was not able to be invoiced.Complete weekly integration of sales in the ERP and tie out to the Aging.Complete departmental projects, including the implementation of accounting changes.Ensures compliance with internal policies, procedures and internal controls in accordance with the Sarbanes- Oxley Act 2002 Section 404.

Qualifications

Key Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or similar field required, plus five years of general ledger and financial statement reporting experience.Must have mathematical skills consistent with obtaining a four-year accounting degree.This position requires daily use of an accounting software package for a medium size company. Previous experience with this type of software is required.Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills are required.Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, and other associates required.Ability to show proficiency in the following computer applications: MS Office applications, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPointAbility to embody and reflect Vestcom’s core values
