What you'll do: We are currently seeking a Senior Accountant for QXO, Inc. based out of our office in Herndon, VA. This position will report to the Director of Accounting and will play a critical role in accounting compliance related matters, including governance and controls, internal and external reporting, lease accounting, and researching accounting matters. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accrual-based accounting, ASC 842 lease accounting, and internal controls, along with excellent analytical and communication skills. We are looking for someone who has a proven ability to thrive successfully in a fast paced, dynamic environment with a high-degree of accuracy and professionalism. Monitor and maintain lease accounting records in accordance with ASC 842, including new lease setup, modifications, and coordination with Facilities and Fleet teams Maintain lease accounting software Perform month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, responding to audit inquiries, and ensuring documentation is complete and accurate Assist in the implementation and maintenance of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with SOX and company policies Liaise with the external and internal auditors during quarterly reviews and the year-end audit process Perform ad hoc projects under the direction of the Director of Accounting What you'll bring: Minimum 3+ years of accounting experience Active certified Public Accountant (CPA) License preferred Bachelor’s degree in accounting; advanced degree preferred “Big 4” experience preferred Experience in technical accounting research Strong project management and process orientation skills Demonstrated successful experience in a team-oriented culture Professional written and verbal communication skills Comprehensive knowledge of business acumen, financial concepts, and procedures This hybrid role will have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days as set by the Director of Accounting Moderate travel requirements as needed for business purposes What you'll earn 401(k) with employer match Medical, dental, and vision insurance PTO, company holidays, and parental leave Paid training and certifications Legal assistance and identity protection Pet insurance Employee assistance program (EAP) QXO is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
