Senior Accountant

Job Description Summary

A Statutory Accountant is responsible for ensuring a company's financial records comply with legal and regulatory requirements, preparing and filing statutory financial statements, and coordinating with external auditors. They also maintain accurate accounting records, reconcile accounts, and ensure compliance with local accounting standards and tax regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Financial Statement Preparation:
Preparing and filing statutory financial statements (e.g., annual,) according to local regulations and accounting standards.
• Compliance:
Ensuring all financial reporting adheres to relevant laws, regulations, and Slovak accounting standards

Working with external auditors and tax advisors to facilitate the audit process, providing necessary information and addressing queries.
• Account Reconciliation:
Maintaining accurate and reconciled accounts, including balance sheet reconciliations in accordance with Slovak law.
• Tax Compliance:
Preparing and submitting tax returns, working with tax experts, and staying updated on tax legislation.
• Internal Control:
Implementing and maintaining internal controls to ensure the integrity of financial data and reporting processes.
• Reporting:
Preparing various statutory and regulatory reports, including statistical returns and other filings.
• System Maintenance:
Contributing to the setup and maintenance of accounting systems and reports in line with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Ad-hoc Duties:
Participating in special projects, assisting with process improvements, and providing support to other team members.
Skills and Qualifications:
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices in line with Slovak GAAP
• Proficiency in financial statement preparation and analysis.
• Experience with audit coordination
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience in working with accounting software and strong ability to work in Microsoft office
