Senior Accountant
Description Job Description: Senior Accountant (Fully Remote - Washington, DC) My client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join a dynamic team remotely while supporting operations in Washington, DC. As a Senior Accountant, you will play a critical role in managing financial processes, reporting, and ensuring compliance. This fully remote position offers the flexibility to work from home while contributing to a fast-paced and collaborative environment with opportunities for growth and development. Key Responsibilities: + Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. + Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations and journal entries. + Perform account reconciliations, resolve discrepancies, and maintain the general ledger. + Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to provide actionable insights to leadership. + Support audits and tax filings by organizing and providing required documentation to external auditors and consultants. + Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve processes, systems, and reporting efficiency. + Monitor and ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures. + Analyze complex financial data to identify trends and support business decisions. Requirements Qualifications: + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification is strongly preferred. + 5+ years of experience in accounting, including a strong understanding of GAAP principles. + Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP) and advanced Excel skills. + Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and problem-solving. + Experience with financial planning and analysis (FP& A) is a plus. + Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present data clearly. + Ability to work independently and remotely, maintaining productivity and meeting deadlines. + Previous experience collaborating with remote teams or supporting multi-location operations is a bonus.
