Senior – Information System Security Officer (ISSO) Clarksburg (4511)at SMX(View all jobs) (https://www.smxtech.com/careers/) Clarksburg, WV We are seeking an experienced **Senior Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO)** to join our mission-critical support team for a Federal Law Enforcement client. This role is part of a multi-year ITSSS-2 call order providing comprehensive cybersecurity support to FBI systems that safeguard national security and law enforcement data. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in federal cybersecurity compliance, lifecycle security management, and collaborative security engineering — all within a fast-paced, SAFe Agile development environment. **Essential Duties & Responsibilities:** + Lead implementation and maintenance of a **lifecycle information system security model** for CJIS Division IT assets. + Ensure systems conform to **Federal and FBI security policies** , NIST RMF standards, and FISMA compliance. + Conduct and document **security control assessments** , system categorization, and vulnerability tracking using GRC tools (e.g., Telos Xacta, JCAM). + Collaborate with system owners, ISSMs, and ISSEs to monitor security posture, approve change requests, and update SSPPs, SRTMs, and POA&Ms. + Respond to and escalate **security incidents** per FBI protocol. + Monitor trends in threat intelligence and recommend **risk mitigation strategies** for both cloud and on-prem systems. + Provide security input during SAFe Agile release cycles, sprint planning, and architecture review boards. + Deliver briefings, user training, and documentation in support of FBI cyber hygiene programs. + Support audit readiness, insider threat monitoring, and continuous diagnostics and mitigation (CDM) implementation. **Required Technologies and Skills:** + Experience with: **Telos Xacta, JCAM, Jira, Confluence, Splunk, Tenable, BigFix, SharePoint** + Hands-on with **SSPPs, POA&Ms, ISCPs, and FISMA documentation** + Strong understanding of: **NIST SP 800-53, 800-37, FIPS-199/200, RMF Step 1-6** + Familiarity with **multi-factor authentication, encryption, logging standards, incident response, and threat hunting** + Knowledge of secure system design principles and secure configuration baselines (e.g., STIGs, CIS Benchmarks) + Active TS clearance required. **Preferred Qualifications:** + **CISSP** or equivalent high-level security certification + Experience working in **federal or law enforcement environments** + Cloud Security expertise (e.g., **AWS/Azure** , FedRAMP) + Familiarity with **Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)** and CI/CD pipelines + Demonstrated ability to work across cross-functional IT/security teams and present findings to leadership **Application Deadline:** 9-5-2025 \#CJPOST #LI-SA The SMX salary determination process takes into account a number of factors, including but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories, relevant prior work experience, specific skills, education and certifications.
