At Raytheon, the foundation of everything we do is rooted in our values and a higher calling – to help our nation and allies defend freedoms and deter aggression. We bring the strength of more than 100 years of experience and renowned engineering expertise to meet the needs of today’s mission and stay ahead of tomorrow’s threat. Our team solves tough, meaningful problems that create a safer, more secure world.
As a Scientist or Engineer involved in the production crystalline semiconductors substrates and diodes you will focus on execution and process improvements of critical materials for Infrared Sensors at Raytheon Vision Systems, a provider of leading-edge sensing technology. We are looking for an individual who must demonstrate a safety-first work routine. A scientist/engineer who supports various projects and initiatives related to production, process engineering, capital installation and facility modifications for cost competitive, single crystal substrates or diode manufacturing. As part of a multi-functional team, you will be involved in process improvements through critical metrology data analysis, equipment specification & support, tooling and the development of meaningful, trackable process metrics.
Developing detailed knowledge of production steps associated with single crystal substrate production as well as fundamental understanding of Epitaxial Growth Processes including related metrology is essential. Examples include: chemical polishing, precision sawing, materials handling in inert environments, wet processing (clean and etch). Through metrology you will assess process variability utilizing software tools, and apply advanced mathematical methods and statistical analysis, to assure repeatability in production.
Our projects and production require to be able to work in a controlled, clean-room environment as well as a fundamental understanding of existing equipment such as precision sawing, polishing and chemical treatments. You will work in a team environment that will require detailed communication to direct technicians and to interface with colleagues collaboratively.
