We are seeking a Semi-Senior Data Engineer with 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in designing, building, and optimizing data pipelines and infrastructure. This role is ideal for someone who wants to strengthen their foundation in large-scale data engineering while gaining exposure to machine learning (ML) operations and model integration workflows. You'll join a collaborative team that works closely with data scientists and ML engineers to ensure the efficient delivery, quality, and scalability of data for analytics and ML applications.

What You’ll Do

As a Semi-Senior Data Engineer, you will own the development and maintenance of ETL/ELT pipelines, orchestrate data workflows in production, and optimize systems that process large volumes of structured and unstructured data. You’ll help ensure our infrastructure meets the evolving needs of machine learning initiatives, with opportunities to engage directly with model lifecycle tasks such as feature store support, model input/output data management, and monitoring ML-driven systems.

This role is perfect for engineers who enjoy building systems, thrive in fast-paced environments, and are excited about playing a critical role at the intersection of data infrastructure and machine learning.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain reliable ETL/ELT pipelines across batch and stream processing environments

Ensure high data quality and availability for analytics and ML model consumption

Collaborate with data scientists and ML engineers to prepare data inputs and manage feature pipelines

Implement and monitor data workflows using orchestration tools like Airflow, Step Functions, or similar

Write optimized SQL queries and transformations using engines like AWS Athena, Redshift, or Snowflake

Work with cloud-native infrastructure, especially AWS (S3, Glue, Lambda, EMR, SageMaker) to support scalable systems

Begin contributing to model deployment workflows, learning about CI/CD for ML, model tracking, and data versioning

Desired Skills and Qualifications

3–5 years of experience in data engineering, backend development, or distributed systems

Strong proficiency in SQL and a programming language such as Python, Scala, or Java

Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and tools such as S3, Glue, Athena, Lambda, or EMR

Familiarity with data pipeline orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, Dagster, Step Functions)

Understanding of data modeling, partitioning, and performance optimization for large-scale datasets

Interest in machine learning, with exposure to model workflows, data prep for ML, or MLOps tools being a strong plus

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
