What You'll Do:
Utilize iPads and specialized software tools (e.g., data collection apps, spreadsheets) to collect, evaluate, and distribute research data in accordance with detailed procedures.
Conduct planting, transplanting, and harvesting of experimental crop lines in both field and greenhouse environments, ensuring accurate documentation and sample integrity.
Coordinate the packaging and shipment of harvested seeds to collaborating projects, maintaining proper labeling and chain-of-custody records.
Summarize experimental outcomes and manage datasets using tools such as Excel.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely execution of experimental protocols and data collection milestones.
Ensure implementation and compliance with site safety standards, including conducting safety training and monitoring adherence to standards and procedures.
Maintain a safe working environment by proactively identifying and addressing potential hazards.
What Skills You Need:
Bachelor’s degree in agriculture or scientific related field plus 2-4 years industry related experience.
Technologically Savvy: Competency with standard Microsoft Office programs and capacity to learn new technologies and software. Handling of large volumes of data will be required.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to work well with diverse groups of people.
Supervisory Skills: Demonstrated people management experience with the ability to teach and coach employees. Ability to work under minimum supervision, efficient time management skills and ability to handle multiple tasks.
Results Driven: Demonstrated problem solving skills, strategic analysis, and communication skills. Self-motivated and ability to initiate projects, improvements, decisions, and problem solving. Detail-oriented, strong time management and organizational skills.
Safety Oriented: Commitment to excellent safety and risk management practices
Must be capable of working in varying ergonomic and environmental conditions for extended periods of time.
Must be capable of lifting 50 pounds.
Driver’s License and acceptable driving record.
Ability to obtain appropriate pesticide applicator license/certification.
What Makes You Stand Out:
Strong Agronomy Background: Ability to scout crops and make recommendations based on findings.
Bilingual: Be able to effectively communicate in Spanish is preferred
