Job Title: Cable Technician (Level 1 & Level 2) Location: Large Construction Site Pay Range: + Level 1: $20–$21/hr (based on experience) + Level 2: $22–$26/hr (based on experience) Job Description We are seeking skilled Cable Technicians to assist with pulling cable and terminating keystone-style jacks at a large construction site. This role involves installing and testing structured cabling systems, including Cat5/6 and fiber optic cables, as well as other network infrastructure. Responsibilities + Pull, terminate, and test Cat5/6 and fiber optic cables + Install cabling infrastructure (racks, cabinets, etc.) + Install network racks and cabinets in server rooms + Review job documentation, including: + Floor plans (equipment locations) + Reflected ceiling plans + Conduit call-outs + Wall elevations + Signal flow diagrams + Cable pull schedules Physical Requirements + Regularly stand, climb, walk, sit, push, pull, squat, crawl, and stoop + Use hands for handling tools and typing + Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs occasionally + Specific vision abilities: close, distance, depth perception, and focus adjustment + Comfortable using power tools Required PPE + Hard hat with chin strap + Safety glasses + Steel-toed shoes + Safety vest Skills + Cable pulling and termination + Punchdown (66 and 100 block) + Structured cabling + Fiber optic handling Top Skills + Cable + Cabling + Punchdown + Cable pulling + Structured cabling Additional Qualifications To qualify candidates, ask: + What types of equipment have you installed? + Is your experience in commercial or residential work? + What brands of cameras have you worked with? + What brands of access controls have you worked with? + What brands of panels have you worked with? + Have you done any system programming? + Have you installed door strikes or mag locks? + Do you have all basic hand tools? + Are you proficient in reading blueprints? + What types of commercial projects have you worked on? + Have you ever led a crew of technicians? + Do you have a Texas Alarm Install License (active)? + Do you have reliable transportation? + Do you have a physical copy of OSHA 10 Cert?
