Security Supervisor

The Security Supervisor is responsible for supporting the Security Manager in the daily execution of AE Mexicali’s security operations. The role oversees contract security personnel, ensures proper control at gates and internal zones, maintains operational discipline, and ensures that all security procedures are followed consistently. Responsibilities include perimeter control, patrol activities, CCTV monitoring, access verification, incident support, and documentation accuracy.

 

The Security Supervisor works closely with Facilities, Operations, HR, EHS, and IT to ensure a safe and secure environment during both construction and full operational phases.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversee daily deployment and performance of contract security personnel across all assigned posts.

• Follow up on the annual training plan for the security personnel (certification of security guards).

• Ensure proper control of perimeter gates including access checks, visitor and contractor registration, badge issuance, and material verification.

• Manages and controls the inventory of security equipment and/or tools.

• Conduct routine patrols, clocking, and inspections of server rooms, production zones, warehouses, loading bays, and other sensitive areas.

• Conducts periodicals meetings with security personnel in charge to inform about requirements, improvements, trainings, needs, among others.

• Report incidents, suspicious activities and/or events that compromise the security of the company and escalate them to the Security Manager.

• Support incident response through on-ground fact-finding, evidence collection, CCTV retrieval, and initial incident reporting.

• Maintain accurate daily logs, visitor registers, patrol records, contractor entries, and shift reports.

• Conducts internal and external surveillance rounds in the facilities with the objective of detecting and reporting suspicious behavior, unsafe acts, incidents, risks, criminal activity, and emergencies.

• Enforce site security SOPs, emergency procedures, contractor movement rules, and all daily operational routines.

• Coordinate with Facilities, Operations, HR, EHS, and IT to resolve operational issues and ensure timely follow-up.

• Provide supervision and direction to contract security officers to maintain discipline, behaviour, and adherence to AE’s expectations.

• Support audit readiness by ensuring documentation accuracy and compliance with internal security standards.

• Support audit and process confirmation of critical process related at security inspections to ensuring compliance with CTPAT.  

• Follow up at loss prevention controls of AEMX.

 

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

• Bachelor’s degree in security management, Criminology, Business, or a related field is preferable.

• Experience: 3 to 5 years in similar position supervising security personnel in an industrial environment.

• Experience in site security operations, supervision, or related roles in manufacturing or large facilities.

• Strong understanding of access control practices, CCTV monitoring, and patrol routines.

• Strong understanding of risk assessment process, to identify and prevent risks situations.

• Ability to supervise contract guards and maintain consistent daily operational discipline.

• Experience in basic incident handling, fact-finding, and documentation.

• Strong communication skills and ability to work with multiple departments including Facilities, HR, Operations, EHS, and IT.

• Knowledge of CTPAT MSC is preferable.

• Structured, responsible, detail-oriented approach to operational tasks, orientation to results, teamwork, leadership, negotiation, work under pressure, analytical, integrity, follow instructions, fast in his actions, responsible, honest, maintain confidentiality and discretion of matters.

• English: Intermediate.

 

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Site-based role requiring daily presence at perimeter gates, internal zones, operational floors, and critical areas.

• Works closely with the Security Manager, Facilities, Operations, HR, EHS, IT, and contract guards.

• Involvement in shift coordination, operational follow-up, and support during incidents.

• Active participation required during construction phase, equipment move-in, and full operational periods.
