Job Title: Security Superintendent
Job Dimensions
Operates under PRL 15, covering multiple sites within and beyond its boundaries, including the Gulf Province project area.
Scope includes ongoing drilling, seismic, and survey operations.
Work regime: 35 days on / 35 days off rotation.
Back-to-back role.
Responsible for liaison and deployment of Government security forces as required.
Oversees management of security systems and development of procedures.

Share best practices openly. Key Activities Operations Supervise, deploy, and monitor contracted security guards and government security forces. Mentor, train, assess, and develop security personnel at Upstream sites. Develop and implement security improvement programs, including work plans, budgets, procedures, training, and assessments. Maintain timely communication with Senior Management regarding incidents or developments. Provide recommendations to site management to protect personnel and assets. Identify technical solutions to reduce costs and improve security efficiency. Establish and maintain security and intelligence networks. Conduct investigations into theft, fraud, and security breaches. Deliver security briefings, inductions, and training. Engage with community entities, peer companies, and industry groups. Prepare weekly and ad-hoc reports. Lead security activities during emergencies. Collaborate with Community Relations to address community/project security issues. Implement and oversee Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights (VPSHR). Support other departments and act as a conduit for site management communications. Interface with community leaders to provide proactive security information. Conduct regular Service Quality Meetings (SQM) with contractors. Act as Team Commander during security crises per the Site Contingency Plan. Provide security oversight when the Security Manager is out of country. Reporting Prepare weekly and ad-hoc reports as requested by management. Context & Environment E&P in Papua New Guinea is strategically important for Operator LNG operations. Operates in a sensitive and challenging environment with complex community, biodiversity, and development dynamics. This is the second LNG project in Papua New Guinea. Role is based in Logistics Herd Base, Papua New Guinea. Accountabilities Oversee security at all Upstream sites. Supervise and train contracted guards. Manage Government Security Forces. Support the operator staff and contractors to minimize loss and enhance operational efficiency. Required Qualifications & Experience Qualifications Degree or equivalent in Criminal Justice, Security Management, or related field. Alternatively, minimum 5 years of progressive experience in security management, ideally in Oil & Gas. Experience Site security experience in extractive industries (Oil & Gas, mining). Minimum 10 years’ experience in security, law enforcement, or military operations. Strong influencing and negotiation skills. Ability to build constructive relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Strong conceptual and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Experience in conducting Security Threat, Risk, and Vulnerability Assessments. Proven track record in intelligence-led security and cost-effective risk reduction strategies. Skilled in data collection, analysis, and reporting. Experience managing security during major construction and development projects.
