Job Description:

Allied Universal® is hiring a Mall Security Professional - Unarmed. The Security Professional will conduct unarmed foot and/or vehicle patrol (interior and/or exterior). Additional duties include control access and egress; monitor CCTV and alarm systems; compose reports; deter criminal activity and misconduct. Due to the safety sensitive nature of this role, qualified candidates must be able to submit to drug screening to the extent permissible by law.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform security patrols of grounds on foot or in vehicle; document detailed observations of unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazardsAssist staff with de-escalation of situations involving patients; restrain combative individuals as necessary (within company and customer guidelines)Assist with evacuations during fires, medical emergencies, and natural disastersSound alarms or call police or fire department in case of fire or presence of unauthorized personsWarn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articlesMonitor persons entering the property and monitor entrances and exits; ensure only authorized individuals enter and exit restricted areas, and that no contraband or potential weapon like items are brought onto the propertyObserve departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensures that authorized removal of property is conducted within appropriate client requirementsInvestigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities; maintain written logs as required

QUALIFICATIONS (MUST HAVE):

High school diploma or equivalentCurrent driver’s license if driving a company- or customer-owned vehicleLicensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employmentMust be at least 21 years of age, or higherAble to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitorsDemonstrated ability to interact cordially and communicate with the publicEffective oral and written communication skillsProblem solving skillsActive listening skillsAbility to assess and evaluate situations effectively; identify critical issues quickly and accuratelyAble to mediate conflict with tact, diplomacyWrite informatively, clearly, and accuratelyAttention to detail
