Security Officer \n

Summary: (Summarize primary purpose of job function.) Observe and report activities and incidents providing for safety and security of property and personnel. Make periodic tours to check for irregularities and inspects protection devices and fire control equipment.\n

Essential Responsibilities:\n\nObserve the areas in and around Mozaic Senior Life to assess suspicious activity, safety concerns, access control or the presence of any person which raises a concern for the safety of residents, employees and guests.\nReport, oral and written, all that is observed or detected to the security supervisor.\nRespond to emergency situations that occur at Mozaic Senior Life Assist in controlling the situation until the situation is cleared.\nPrepare daily logs and reports of security activity.\nDrive company vehicle around outer parameter to make periodic security checks.\nOperate and monitor security control device panels and alarm related security equipment to provide a safe and secure campus for residents, employees and guests.\nFollow the established policies and procedures of Mozaic Senior Life\nResponsible for enforcing all parking and traffic procedures.\nMaintain a professional composure at all times when dealing with residents, employees and guests.\nResponsible for maintaining, replacing keys throughout the facility.\nOther related duties as assigned.\n\n

Minimum Qualifications:\n

Education: High School Diploma or GED\n

State of CT Guard Card is required\n

Experience: Prior security experience in a healthcare setting preferred, with a minimum of one full year of experience is required.\n

Licensure: Valid driver's license\n

Knowledge\/Skills\/Abilities:\n

Ability to read and communicate effectively both orally and written; good organizational skills; handle typical and crisis situations professionally; neat and professional appearance; effective team member; ability to work overtime on short notice.\n
