Provide customer service to staff and visitors at a government library location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.Carry and maintain assigned duty gear in accordance with licensing requirements and site post orders, and use professional judgment to help to deter prohibited or disruptive activity.Conduct regular and random armed patrols of interior areas, entrances, public spaces, parking areas, and the perimeter, noting unusual conditions and taking appropriate action.Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, using verbal de-escalation techniques and requesting law enforcement and/or medical support when needed.Complete timely reports and logs such as patrol activity, incident documentation, and shift turnover information, and communicate key updates to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.Minimum Requirements:
Have 1 or more years armed security, law enforcement, and/or military experience.Have an armed guard card or license.A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.Participate in industry-specific security training programs.Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.Allied Universal® is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
