As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol Ranger in Miami, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer in a government transit environment, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, stay visible to help deter security-related incidents, and respond professionally to situations as they arise. You will communicate clearly with riders, staff, and public partners while documenting observations and following site procedures. Provide customer service to riders, visitors, and staff while carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.Patrol transit facilities, platforms, parking areas, and perimeter zones on a regular and random basis to help to identify suspicious activity, hazards, and policy violations, with working conditions varying by location.Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating with supervisors and local law enforcement and/or emergency services as needed.Control access to restricted areas by checking credentials, monitoring entry points, and directing persons to appropriate locations in accordance with posted rules and location procedures.Carry and maintain issued defensive equipment consistent with licensing requirements and Allied Universal and location policies, and complete timely incident reports and activity logs using approved systems.Minimum Requirements:
Have 3 or more years combined law enforcement, military, and/or security-related experience, or have a college degree.Possess an Armed Guard Card and/or license.Client requires proof of high school diploma or GED.Be at least 21 years of age.A Guard Card and/or license is preferred.Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.Participate in industry-specific security training programs.Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.Allied Universal® is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
