Security Officer

Job Summary and Responsibilities

Glendale Memorial Hospital & Health is seeking a vigilant, responsible, and professional Security Officer to ensure the safety and security of our premises, personnel, and assets. The ideal candidate will possess excellent observation skills, a strong sense of integrity, and the ability to respond effectively to various security situations. This role is crucial in maintaining a secure and orderly environment for everyone within our facility.

Protecting staff, patients, and visitors by responding to calls for assistance in a timely and prudent manner, such as violent or unruly patients, visitors, crimes committed or in progress, opening doors, and responding to emergency codes.Patrol the facility and grounds by foot or vehicle; monitor security alarms and dispatch officers promptly to location(s) where needed, and report unsafe acts or conditions.Knowledge of emergency procedures, equipment, supplies, reports HIPAA breaches if witnessed; investigates security breaches, conducts follow-up investigations, and writes incident reports.Log all activities in a daily log to accurately record events; and complete clear, concise, and legible reports promptly; use appropriate emergency and radio codes in dispatching security officers while knowing the hospital campus to ensure that those dispatched are to the right location.
Job Requirements
High school diploma / GED Required.Six (6) months of experience as a security officer in a hospital or healthcare setting, prior to law enforcement or military service.One (1) year of experience as a security officer is required.CA Security License, showing no disciplinary actions required.CA Driver's License required. AHA BLS within 90 days of hire required.

Preferred
