Key Responsibilities:
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Security contractor's Management
Responsible for monitoring and managing the performance of the contracted security services providers including but not limited to the following activities;
Setting up context-specific KPIs for the contractors.Receipt and review of the contractor's security reports.Setting up meetings in a pre-defined schedule to evaluate contractors’ performance and timely feedback sharing.2. Personnel Safety and Security
Ensure the safety and security of WVT personnel involving but not limited to the following activities:
Providing security briefings to visitors.Conducting security awareness to staff and affiliates.Identification and timely addressing risks that could affect staff safety while executing their duties.3. Incident management (reporting and investigation)
Ensuring all incidents are reported in accordance with the standard procedures and where applicable; be thoroughly investigated to extract lessons. This will involve the following activities:
Escalating security issues per the reporting proceduresInvestigating incidents while upholding integrity and timeliness.4. Safety and security of project supplies/asserts/commodities
Ensuring the WVT project asserts/ commodities are secured including but not limited to the following activities;
Assessment of the risk posed to commodities/asserts.Coming up with measures to mitigate the risks.5. Reports
Preparation and timely sharing of reports pertaining to the security function including the following;
Monthly security management reports.Ensuring the master incident register is up to date.6. Stakeholders’ Engagement
Various stakeholders play a key role in the success of the security function including but not limited to MoHA, Police, Sungu Sungu, UNHCR, WFP, and other agencies.
Plan and coordinate security prior to and during food distribution i.e., police, guards, MoHA, etc.Represent WVT in security forums and ensure effective communication with other security stakeholders in the camp.Establishing functioning information lines with key stakeholders to ensure the WVT function is well-informed on security dynamics in and outside the campsKNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE
Required Professional Experience
At least 5 years’ experience in a proven security field public or private institutionExperience in humanitarian is an added valueHas strong relating and networking skillsFirst aid qualifiedRequired Education, training, license, registration, and certification
Degree in law, military or social science from a recognized institutionNo previous criminal recordsPhysical Requirements
