As a Security Officer, you will play an essential role in this mission. Here, you will ensure the well-being of everyone you encounter while creating a welcoming, inviting environment. You will offer escorts and facility directions when requested, allowing you to interact with new people every day. This position provides an excellent opportunity to use your skills to support a healthcare system paving the way in life-changing treatment.
A caregiver in this position works 10:00PM – 6:30AM.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Perform proactive monitoring of and timely responses to potential/actual security threats.
Deter vandalism, theft and property abuse through routine patrols of all hospital property, including inside areas, parking lots and desks.
Protect patients, visitors and employees by providing escorts and eliminating safety hazards.
Enforce Cleveland Clinic facility policies (e.g., parking regulations, visitation policies, drug enforcement, tobacco free/smoking policy).
Facilitate planned drills and simulations.
Provide information and assistance to staff and visitors to promote their safety on the premises.
Complete metal detection protocols for all Emergency Department (ED) visits.
Search all bags, backpacks, briefcases, knapsacks, purses or parcels, wand all new admissions and log activity for all Emergency Department (ED) visits.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
High School Diploma/GED
Valid Driver’s License (VDL) and eligibility of insurability to operate organization vehicles
X-2 Taser Training Certification within one year of hire
One year of related experience in criminal justice, private/public/military security and/or related law enforcement fields
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Completion of the Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission (OPOTC)

Physical Requirements:
Meets the standards of the Basic Physical Fitness Standards upon hire and on an annual basis.
Requires extensive walking, standing, sitting, talking, listening, and documenting when directing or investigating concerns/incidents.
Personal Protective Equipment:
Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
