Are you passionate about safety and guest service? The Disneyland® Resort is looking for dedicated individuals to join our team as Security K9 Handler Cast Members. In this role, you’ll help ensure a safe and secure environment for all guests and Cast Members across our parks and hotels.
Provides a safe and secure environment for the Disneyland® Resort by performing the following roles:
Security Screening: Works in tandem with their company-assigned canine partner to detect a variety of substances in various working environments, including indoor and outdoor venuesPerforms Guest screening and K9 searches of vehicles, buildings, open areas, and unattended itemsActs as a visible and engaged deterrent to undesirable behaviors and actionsGuest Interaction: Provides excellent conflict resolution skills while balancing the importance of providing great Guest ServiceActively train and work with other team members and external partners in a rigorous physical training and technical environmentEmergency Response: Responds to critical incidents including emergencies, evacuations, Company policy violations, and works with law enforcementApply critical thinking, analytical and decision-making skills as necessary and, at times under duress, to address actual and potential security concerns or emergency situationsDemonstrates keen observation and critical thinking skills, good judgment in decision making, and professionalism in assisting with medical incidents, Guest and Cast conflict situations, and other emergency response needsConducts behavioral assessments, utilizing specialized training and methodologies, to identify potential indicators of unusual and suspicious conductResponsible for caring for their canine partner, including bathing, feeding, and conducting kennel maintenance Basic Qualifications: You must be at least 18 years of age to be considered for this roleStrong communication skillsPossess a current California Driver License with no moving violations for the past twelve (12) monthsComplete K9 detection training courses, maintain multiple annual certifications with their canine partner and maintain proficiency through weekly training Preferred Qualifications: Bilingual preferredMinimum of 3 years' experience in Security, Law Enforcement, Military, or related Public Safety experiencePrevious security responsibilities for a multi-site campus facility (either corporate or college setting)Previous detection dog training/experienceFull availability for any shift, seven (7) days per week, including nights, weekends, and holidays Additional Information: SCHEDULE AVAILABILITYOur Theme Parks and Resort Hotels operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and some shifts may start as early as 5:00am while some may end as late as 3:00am, 4:00am or 5:00am.
