The Security Electronics Engineer is responsible for managing all video security, conferencing, and tele-health systems, responding to and correcting issues with related systems and preventive action to identify issues that may develop in the environment, documenting those issues, developing a solution plan and ultimately leading the solution’s implementation. May also be called upon to lead small to medium projects including project plan development.
Works with clients, such as CoreCivic government partners and employees, to capture technology business requirements and implements those requirements. Designs and implements video surveillance, video conferencing, tele-health, and associated systems in an IP-based networking environment.Works collaboratively to integrate video management systems across technical and operational organizations. Develops bill of materials, estimates cost, prepares project submittals, processes proposals, and procures related systems components.Provides support and direction to field implementation team members responsible for installation of designed systems.Identifies necessary vendor patches and upgrades; presents such upgrades to management and change control, and successfully plans, communicates and executes such upgrades.Acknowledges and implements best practices for tuning, performance and functional administration of security electronics technologies.Makes recommendations for procurement, end of life, and upgrade of security electronics technologies.Ensures availability of supported technology.Manifests the department’s commitment to positive, friendly and competent customer support. Maintains relationships with customer departments and ensures all support is provided in the context of assisting application users succeed in their business goals.Manages problem or request tickets from users and closes the loop on support issues to ensure a positive user experience.Follows the CoreCivic program management methodology and works collaboratively with all team members.Provides guidance to less experienced team members through complex troubleshooting processes and translates very technical information into user terminology for business units.Provides support to vendors for projects and service work via telephone, email, and Teams meetings.Domestic U.S. travel may be required.
Qualifications:
Graduate from an accredited college or university with an Associate’s degree in Computer Science or other related field is required. Three years of related experience is required. Additional related experience may be substituted for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis. MSCE certification is preferred. Milestone Advanced certification is preferred. Requires proficiency in IP-based surveillance cameras, video management systems, video conferencing technologies, basic network troubleshooting, server systems, Microsoft Windows Server 2019, Active Directory, and system monitoring and reporting tools. Must have strong knowledge of development and production life cycle stages, knowledge of business processes and its integration with IT. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required.Some travel may be required. A valid driver's license is required.
