As a Dispatcher, you will play an essential role in this mission and be a part of our growing organization. Dispatchers are responsible for protecting patients, visitors, caregivers and hospital property by coordinating and addressing the Security Dispatch Office activities and responsibilities.
**A caregiver in this position works varying part-time shifts from** **6:00am - 2:30pm,** **2:00pm -10:30pm, or** **10:00pm - 6:30am.**
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
+ Receive calls and requests for service and formulate correct responses.
+ Regulate radio traffic by dispatching calls and relaying information.
+ Answer questions and give directions to visitors, caregivers and patients.
+ Monitor hospital activity on closed circuit television to be alerted to any escalating situations or unusual activity that may require Security involvement and responds appropriately.
+ Implement procedures for emergency situations such as fire, disaster, infant abduction, tornado, bomb threat, etc. as indicated in the Security Department Facility Orders and the M.C.I. Manual.
+ Complete appropriate and accurate documentation for dispatch logs, equipment logs, helipad logs, lost and recovered property, patient valuables, occurrence reports, etc.
+ Maintain knowledge of operation of access control systems.
+ Maintain knowledge of all alarm systems and appropriate responses.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
+ High school graduate
+ Computer software proficiency
+ Typing and data entry skills
+ Clear speaking voice over a security radio system
+ Ability to dispatch personnel in escalating situations
+ Visual acuity to monitor security screens continuously
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
+ Previous security and/or dispatch experience

+ Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required
**Pay Range**
Minimum hourly: $15.25
Maximum hourly: $19.60
The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate's actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate's work history, experience, skill set and education.
