Position Summary

We have a current vacancy for a Security Certifications Director to join our Team in Ottawa, ON. This person would be responsible for leading a team of security analysts in multiple sites to facilitate the smooth passage of Thales products through evaluation and certification process. The team’s work is fundamental to ensuring Thales DIS products and services meet requirements for cryptography from governments worldwide; are designed to meet, and surpass, international standards for security; and provide certified security configurations to governments and commercial enterprises.

Essential Functions

Responsible for leadership of the Security Certifications team and must be able to:

Lead the security and certifications team to effectively manage certifications projects, continually improve team and team member efficiency, and manage escalations when roadblocks occur and need resolution;Partner with product owners and engineering teams in security certifications strategy, planning, and in managing evaluations activities to achieve target certifications;Drive product security certifications and creation of evaluation evidence for Thales DIS products in areas such as Common Criteria, Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) 140, Payments Card Industry (PCI), and regionally focused committed security certifications for new and existing products; andEngage with security certification standards bodies, participating in discussions and staying updated on emerging standards. Where feasible, leverage this knowledge to influence these evolving standards, ensuring alignment with the business's needs and goals.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's Degree AND 5+ years' experience in engineering, product/technical program management, product development, or security OR equivalent security certifications experience, preferably with FIPS 140-2/3, Common Criteria, and/or PCI;A broad understanding of hardware, software, and systems engineering best practices; practical product development experience in any of the engineering domains;5+ years' experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.Excellent English written and verbal communications skills;Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal direct supervision; and demonstrated problem solving skills and working effectively with cross-functional teams.

The reference Total Target Compensation(TTC) market range for this position, inclusive of annual base salary and the variable compensation target, is between Total Target Cash (TTC) 180,000  – 230,000 CAD Annual.

This reflects how companies in a similar industry and geographic region generally pay for similar jobs. This range helps the Company make pay decisions as one data point among many. Where a position falls within this range is also dependent on other factors including – but not limited to – the employee’s career path history, competencies, skills and performance, as well as the company’s annual salary budget, the customer’s program requirements, and the company’s internal equity. Thales may offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s status protected by local, state, or federal law.
