The Opportunity:
The position will provide technical assistance and administrative support to the AFRL/RI Special Security Officer (SSO) associated with the management, administration, and access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) controlled information at the Rome Research Site.
Responsibilities:
Provide assistance to the SSO and assigned Personnel Security Specialist for the processing of SCI accesses to include: indoctrinations, debriefings, foreign travel reports, foreign contact reports, visitor requests, coordinating and scheduling visitors, scheduling conferences/meetings/briefings, and database entry to the personnel security system of record (DISS, RMT, Scattered Castles, etc.).Update and enter data into electronic files, systems, and data bases.Receive telephone calls, ascertain the nature of the calls or visits, take phone messages and provide to appropriate staff members; based upon knowledge of the organization and its programs and operations. Refer telephone calls and visitors to appropriate staff or office.Provide limited assistance to the SSO and assigned Information Security Specialist for the safeguarding and storage of classified materials, working papers, engineer notes, conference and meeting materials, and the use of electronics for scanning documents for electronic storage.Become familiar with Air Force Records Custodian, Records Management, and storing Official Records as directed by the SSO.Establish, file, maintain, purge, and dispose of office records/files in accordance with regulations and procedures. Maintain file plan in accordance with regulations.Maintain and post publications and/or technical orders and disposes of obsolete publications.Exercise control over reference materials, providing check out services, and recover or requisition lost materials to maintain a high document availability rate.Use varied functions of multiple office automation software to produce a wide range of documents, formats, etc.Use word processing software to create, copy, edit, store, retrieve, and print forms, memos, and letters and lengthy reports; uses existing database or spreadsheet software to create, enter, revise, sort or calculate, and retrieve data for reports; and use graphics software to provide graphs and charts for reports and presentations.Provide administrative actions; transmit and receive documents and messages electronically using personal computers or workstations that are networked or linked to other computers or workstationsConsolidate and finalize information from system and files for various reports in accordance with established reporting procedures.Gather and summarize information from files and documents for supervisor's or other staff members use. recognizing what information is or is not relevant to the issue at hand.Proofread/edit correspondence and documents for correct grammar, spelling, capitalization, punctuation, and format.Establish, update, and maintain office records of various types; Use a variety of automated systems (e.g., records management, electronic forms, electronic publications library, time and attendance, etc.) and non-automated to perform various clerical duties.May be responsible for the receipt, control, logging, safekeeping, and necessary action on classified materials.

The proposed salary range for this position is:
$60,100 - $123,200
