Securities Settlement Sr Specialist

Baird is looking for a detail-oriented, analytical, and passionate associate that thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a strong understanding of financial markets and operational processes, ensuring financial transactions are executed and accurately and efficiently. This person will be part of our Federal Settlement Team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for overseeing and reconciling the timely settlement of trades, identifying discrepancies, and working closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure smooth financial operations. 
 
As a Securities Settlement Sr. Specialist, you will:

Provide high value service to internal and external clients in an environment that promotes Baird’s culture and the Operations mission and values statement.Support team as the subject matter expert on regulations and policies, understand end-to-end processes.Utilize data analysis to monitor process efficiency and/or identify data integrity exceptions.Assist with the resolution of complex process issues, branch issue resolution and/or error resolution. Identify and contribute to productivity, efficiency and effectiveness improvements to drive exceptional client service and risk mitigation.Interface with various Baird business units to support firm wide and Operations initiatives.Demonstrate and apply understanding and knowledge of markets, products, processes, regulations and systems required to deliver on business objectives.Partner with Corporate Resource Group teams to implement and develop policies to satisfy regulatory obligations. Establish teamwork through collaboration, mentoring and contributing to the development of associates.Participate on project teams creating requirements and testing through workflow analysis and use cases.Perform the clearance functions for Federal Reserve eligible securities trades at the Bank of New York. Resolve settlement exceptions, communicating with various Trading Departments and other counterparty Broker/Dealers and Institutions.Monitor Institutional customer Reg-T & Rule 15c3-3 requirements, and file extensions as neededUnderstand market and counterparty risk.Monitor liquidity needs for daily settlement activityMonitor various clearing fund obligations and take timely action to maintain margin requirements Perform other duties as required.

What we look for:

Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years related of experience in a financial services operations role is a plus.SIE and Series 99 within 120 days if role processes cash or security movements, otherwise SIE and Series 7 a plus.Knowledge of DTC and/or Bank of New York Fed clearance platforms, a plus.Strong experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio). Advanced analytical skills with the ability to perform complex problem solving. Ability to handle multiple assignments; work under pressure and within deadlines and produce accurate, high quality results. Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks under strict deadlines. Passion for providing high-value client service.Ability to work independently and effectively, relating to others in order to accomplish work responsibilities and objectives.Diverse understanding of operational procedures and processes.Highly motivated individual who has a desire to learn, and an ability to think creatively in a demanding environment.
