This role blends a passion for history with exceptional event planning skills to foster engagement and honor Mayo Clinic’s rich heritage.** The Facilities Operations Section Head is accountable for the overall operation, maintenance, performance, and life cycle planning of the built environment. Provides leadership, vision, direction, and strategic planning for a large work unit that typically exceeds 100 FTEs. Provides a leadership culture of evaluating performance and continuous improvement ensuring services are provided at a fair value and meets customer expectations within the boundaries of regulatory compliance. The responsibilities of this position include: + Provides strategic planning, vision, direction, and leadership to manage resources that accomplish the Facilities Operations mission and ensures alignment with the Mayo Clinic Strategy and Mission. + Provides management, administrative support, and technical expertise to the operational leaders within the Section. + Develops the leadership, management and technical skills of the Section management team. + Establishes, validates, and improves the processes that manage the performance of the Section against quality standards, customer expectations, and financial expense targets. + Ownership of the built environment through developing programs that manage the life cycle of assets and provide capital planning for the replacement of the assets and the infrastructure systems. + Reviews the multitude of required regulatory compliance requirements (CMS, TJC, OSHA, MPCA, etc.) as they relate to Facilities Management and develops processes/reporting to maintain compliance. + Develops and plans emergency response plans for Facilities Infrastructure systems that are in support of Emergency Planning and the organization. + Collaborates and fosters a strong interactive working relationship with Mayo departments. **Additional responsibilities of this position include:** + **Oversees the preservation and stewardship of Mayo Clinic’s five historic properties (Mayowood, Foundation House, Walter, Wilson, and Damon House).** + **Designs and executes recognition programs and employee celebrations that create lasting memories.** + **Plans and manages events with precision, ensuring seamless execution and attention to detail.** + **Collaborates with internal teams to align celebrations with organizational values and culture.** + **Promotes awareness and appreciation of Mayo Clinic’s historical legacy through creative initiatives.** **Qualifications** + Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, healthcare management, or related field of study. + Seven years of management experience of a healthcare or related facility. + 5 years of direct supervisory experience is required. + A master's in engineering, business, or healthcare management is preferred. + Strong leadership, communications and interpersonal skills are essential. + CHFM, FM, CHESP or equivalent certifications are preferred. **Preferred Qualifications** + **5 years demonstrated experience in event planning and program coordination.** + **Exceptional organizational skills with a strong focus on accuracy and detail.** + **Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.** + **Genuine passion for history and interest in historic property preservation (preferred).** + **Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across teams.** **This vacancy is not eligible for sponsorship/we will not sponsor or transfer visas for this position.
