You will lead the production operations in the Plant and support the delivery of key performance targets (SQCDSM) in safety, quality, productivity, volumes, cost, sustainability and organizational morale.  You will ensure our manufacturing strategy is implemented and is fully effective and you will strive to build a high performing organization.

How you will contribute

You will:

Manages change/ transformation change/ transformation amongst the Operating teams in the implementation of IL6S-Integrated Lean 6 sigma phase journey, FoF-Factory of Future Line centric organization & roles (AM-Autonomous Maintenance, PM-Progressive Maintenance and an integrated 6 star model within operating Line teams) to progress into Self sufficient teams. Role models Values and principles through effective coaching, mentoring and development of the team. 

Support the Manufacturing annual operational plans and targets to meet Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Sustainability, Engagement goals in line with the site Compelling business need.  coach Line Leaders, cascade & communicate the plans and targets to employees to ensure alignment and understanding around priorities, focus and KPI’s. 

Drive the Operating team to identify and manage improvements to technology, culture, capability and operating systems to deliver a best practice and reliable operation. 

Support all Manufacturing standards, Governance, Compliance requirements (e.g. Corporate Quality, Food safety & GMP, Health, Safety, Security, Environment, Sustainability, Code of conduct, Policies & principles, Operational standards, Local legal requirements, Internal Audit norms, & other procedures updated from time to time) are in place, understood by all, and is regularly reviewed and monitored for effective implementation.

We are seeking a highly motivated Manufacturing Finance Section Controller to join our team in Chirk. This is a unique opportunity to drive change within an established manufacturing environment, and significantly impact our financial performance and operational efficiency. Reporting to the Feedstocks Controller, you will be instrumental in ensuring robust financial controls, accurate reporting, and insightful analysis that supports strategic decision-making. You will work closely with on the ground operational teams, providing critical financial guidance and helping to embed a culture of continuous improvement and cost consciousness across the site. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Manage daily cost controls (M&R spend, labour utilisation) and lead weekly cost governance reporting. 

Prepare and present financial insights for Plant Leadership Team (PLT) meetings and DMS. 

Drive and track productivity initiatives. 

Lead Bills of Material (BOM) reviews and optimisation for OP27. 

Execute month-end processes, including journals and cost analysis. 

Complete quarterly engineering stores audits and participate in R&P inventory management and counts. 

Support site Sox audits and monthly manufacturing deck reporting. 

Provide financial analysis for IBRs, forecasting, and strategic planning processes. 

Highlight any new cost risks and support the plant team with an action plan to mitigate 
 

What Success Looks Like (by end of 2026): 

Establish clear, actionable cost controls and transparent spend messaging across the site. 

Ensure the Plant Leadership Team (PLT) has a comprehensive understanding of actuals and forecasts, facilitating informed strategic decisions. 

Successfully lead the BOM review for OP27, driving operational and financial improvements. 

Consistently deliver clear, concise insights in monthly flash reporting. 

Job specific requirements: 

You possess robust business partnering skills, strong financial acumen, solid understanding of basic accounting principles and excellent Excel skills. 

You bring proven experience within logistics, manufacturing, or FMCG sectors, enabling you to quickly grasp and analyse complex operational processes. 

You excel at understanding intricate processes and simplifying them. You are equally comfortable with office-based analysis and engaging directly on the manufacturing floor. 

You are adept at navigating and influencing within an established culture, eager to assist with and drive transformation initiatives. 

You consistently meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced and demanding environment. 

Bonus Points (Good to Have): 

Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Power BI. 

Working towards or holding a CIMA qualification (or similar). 

Demonstrated experience in change efficiency, productivity, or technology implementation initiatives. 

Location: Chirk, UK 

Working Model: Full-time, On-site (5 days a week)
