Position Purpose:
Join our Med/Surg team at Holy Cross Health, where you’ll support departmental operations and patient care through effective communication, clerical assistance, and limited clinical support. Your role will help ensure a safe, clean, and organized environment while upholding the Mission of Trinity Health and Holy Cross Health.

What You Will Do:

Serve as the central point of contact at the nurse’s station, answering calls and greeting all visitorsGive and receive shift reports to ensure continuity of careMaintain accurate and updated nurse station whiteboardsSchedule diagnostics, treatments, therapies, and transportation per direction, ensuring timely follow-upDocument patient transfers and discharges within 15 minutes of departureOperate communication systems and relay messages as neededPerform clerical duties and provide support to nursing staff as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalentPrevious experience as a unit secretary, health unit coordinator (HUC), administrative partner, or CNAStrong computer skills, including Microsoft OfficeExcellent verbal and written communication skills; fluent in EnglishVisual and auditory acuity; ability to distinguish colorsMedical secretary training certificate preferred

Pay rate: $17.58– $22.71

Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
