THE POSITION The State of Connecticut (https://portal.ct.gov/) , Department of Aging and Disability Services (ADS (http://portal.ct.gov/AgingandDisability) ), is seeking qualified individuals to join our team with the Bureau of Rehabilitation Services (BRS) as a Secretary 1 (https://www.jobapscloud.com/CT/specs/classspecdisplay.asp?ClassNumber=6976CL&R1=&R3=) to support the Workers’ Rehabilitation Services (WRS) program. This position is a critical support role within WRS, ensuring that services are delivered efficiently and effectively so injured workers can receive the assistance they need to return to meaningful employment. WRS is dedicated to helping injured workers return to the workforce by providing high-quality vocational rehabilitation services. Governed by the Workers’ Compensation Act, the program ensures that, in addition to medical care and wage replacement, most Connecticut workers have access to vocational rehabilitation to assist in returning to employment that is physically appropriate and sustainable. The position will be based in Hartford, but will provide administrative and program support to Workers’ Rehabilitation Services staff across multiple field offices throughout Connecticut. As the Secretary 1, you will play a vital role in supporting this mission by ensuring the smooth daily operations of the program. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - SUBSTITUTIONS ALLOWED College training in the secretarial sciences may be substituted for the General Experience on the basis of fifteen (15) semester hours equalling one-half (1/2) year of experience to a maximum of one (1) year.
