Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Field Service Engineer to support our telecommunications client's mission in delivering cybersecurity and compliance services across DoD sites. This role requires a proactive, adaptable individual with strong technical expertise in cyber security, network systems, and DoD compliance frameworks. The engineer will travel up to 50% to CONUS locations (with occasional OCONUS travel) to perform vulnerability scans, audits, RMF processes, and remediation activities. Ideal candidates will have solid experience with IT systems, communication networks, and network security concepts, particularly within Linux and Windows environments. A background in cybersecurity, information systems, vulnerability assessments, NIST 800-53 controls, STIGs, and RF technologies is essential.
Day to Day:
• Tactfully and courteously interface with customers in order to build strong relationships
• Coordinate activities to ensure compliance to all contractual requirements
• Interact with other field personnel and engineers in the environment
• Analyze and document events in a clear and concise manner
• Completion of remediation and mitigation planning and implementation
• Prepare documentation and artifacts for customers as required
• Perform vulnerability scans, system audits, and apply security updates across Windows and Linux environments to ensure cyber compliance and network integrity.
$45hr to $65hr. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role will start on the 1st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.

Skills and Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of experience or 5+ years of relevant experience
• Experience in cybersecurity, compliance, and secure network operations across RF environments
• Knowledge of NIST, RMF, and vulnerability remediation.
• Strong knowledge of IT Systems including Windows and UNIX platforms
• Understanding of Active Directory and Group Policies
• Knowledge of firewalls and router access control lists
• Ability to apply security updates including patching, custom GPO’s and creating/running scripts
• Familiarity with DoD auditing and scanning techniques
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently
• Active Secret Clearence
• Ability to travel minimum 50% of the time to various CONUS sites • Scripting experience (ex., Python, Bash)
• Radio Frequency (RF) experience
• Relevant certifications such as Security+, Network+, CISM
• Experience with Cisco or Juniper routers
• West Coast residency preferred due to primary travel requirements null
