Reporting to the Director or designate, the MHSU Regional Initiatives Lead provides leadership to plan and implement complex improvements initiatives across programs within the MHSU System of Care. The MHSU Regional Initiatives Lead establishes governance, processes and infrastructure to achieve the intended outcomes of initiatives in partnership with care delivery team members and senior leaders.
Travel may be a requirement of this position. Transportation arrangements must meet the operational requirements of Island Health in accordance with the service assignment and may require the use of a personal vehicle.
QUALIFICATIONS:Education, Training And ExperienceA level of education, training and experience equivalent to a Master's degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Health Information Science or Computer Science. At least seven (7) years' of experience working within or directly with a health care system including four (4) years' leading projects or initiatives.
Valid BC Driver's License
Skills And AbilitiesDemonstrated success leading large-scale information technology improvement initiatives. Detailed knowledge of project and change management principles and methodologies. Experience working with the Project Management Institute's PMBOK methodology and PROSCI training are assets.Demonstrated knowledge of health care systems, program planning, development, implementation and evaluation.Proven ability to write, analyze and edit business documents, plans, status reports, proposals, Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and MOU's for accuracy and alignment with initiatives intended outcomes.Excellent oral communication skills with an ability to chair meetings and deliver group presentations to a wide range of audiences. Strong interpersonal skills and capacity to engage with clinical teams, leaders and corporate programs to establish collaborative partnerships.Ability to provide initiative leadership for a team of diverse participants within a matrix reporting structures.Expert proficiency using Microsoft solutions and a range of technology systems.
