In a home-like environment and working without general supervision, the Occupational Therapist-Long-Term Care assesses, plans, provides and evaluates the clinical occupational therapy program for residents to maximize their wellness and mobility. Supervises designated staff. As a member of an interdisciplinary team, educates other health professionals and residents in various aspects of occupational therapy related to resident care.

QUALIFICATIONS: Education, Training And Experience Graduation from a recognized university program in Occupational Therapy. Current licensure in a practicing category with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC as an Occupational Therapist; Eligible for membership in the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists (CAOT); and Knowledge of current Occupational standards, modalities and scope of practice and three (3) years' recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education training and experience. Skills And Abilities Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with residents, families, staff and others. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Occupational ability to perform the duties of the position. Ability to operate related equipment. Ability to demonstrate and utilize sound judgment, tact, empathy and initiative. Ability to demonstrate good observation and assessment skills. Ability to demonstrate clinical competence congruent with service area-specific needs. Link to Full Job Description
