Required Skills and Experience
•10+ years of experience in operational management, including incident management and escalations
•Experience with design and implementation of application monitoring to ensure reliability and performance meets or exceeds business goals
•Experience implementing strategies to cap operations load and to handle overflow using appropriate tooling and metrics; defining service level indicators and objectives in collaboration with stakeholders, business, development, DevSecOps and Operations teams
Key Responsibilities (might include):
FIDS Management: Overseeing the configuration, maintenance, and optimization of FIDS to ensure real-time and accurate display of flight schedules, gate assignments, baggage claim information, and other relevant announcements.Operational Integration: Ensuring seamless integration of FIDS with other airport systems such as AODB (Airport Operational Database), Departure Control Systems (DCS), Arrival Management Systems, and Baggage Handling Systems (BHS).Troubleshooting & Support: Providing expert-level support for FIDS-related issues, diagnosing problems, and coordinating with IT and vendors for resolution.Process Improvement: Identifying opportunities to enhance operational efficiency through better utilization of FIDS and related technologies.Stakeholder Coordination: Liaising with airlines, ground handlers, airport authorities, and IT departments to address operational requirements and challenges related to FIDS.Project Management (if SDM also implies manager): Leading or contributing to projects involving FIDS upgrades, new installations, or system enhancements.Compliance & Regulations: Ensuring FIDS operations comply with aviation industry standards, safety regulations, and local airport policies.Training & Documentation: Developing training materials and procedures for airport staff on FIDS usage and best practices.Data Analysis: Analyzing FIDS data to identify trends, optimize information flow, and support operational decision-making.Preferred Skills and Experience
•BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or other highly technical, scientific discipline.
Deep understanding of Airport Operations: Including passenger flow, baggage handling, aircraft turn-around processes, gate management, and airside/landside operations.
Extensive FIDS Expertise: In-depth knowledge of various FIDS platforms (e.g., SITA, Amadeus, Rockwell Collins, proprietary systems), their architecture, functionalities, and data interfaces.Database Knowledge: Familiarity with relational databases and SQL for querying and managing operational data, especially as it pertains to FIDS.System Integration: Experience with API integrations and data exchange protocols commonly used in airport environments.Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to resolve complex operational and technical issues.Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with diverse stakeholders.Project Management (desirable): If the role involves leading initiatives, knowledge of project management methodologies.Relevant Software/Tools: Proficiency with airport operational software, FIDS configuration tools, and monitoring systems.
