Santander Consumer Finance is one of the UK’s Leading Motor Finance companies and we are currently looking for an ALM Analyst to be responsible for the analysis and management of Santander Consumer UK (and associated Joint Venture’s) structural risks (liquidity (LR) and Interest Rate Risk (IRR))
The scope of the role encompasses all SCUK Group entities, including Hyundai Capital and Volvo.
Please note this role is a hybrid role with at least 3 days a week in the Redhill office. Remote workers will not be considered.
Responsibilities will include:
Compilation and analysis of liquidity and interest rate risks both at an entity and consolidated levelProduction of intuitive forecasting and estimation for main IRR and LR metricsUnderstanding of models used to assess interest rate risk within the businessKnowledge of balance sheet and how interest rates can impact SCUK’s assets and liabilities and the ability to recognise these patterns and report appropriately to managementKnowledge of market movements and regulatory changes with the ability to update management as and when needed. Liaise with business areas on products and business trendsAwareness of market rates (SONIA/OIS), their drivers and ensuing impact on the businessUnderstanding of market value of equity and net interest income impact within the business’ balance sheet. Their key drivers and influence on other parts of the business/financeProduction of SCUK’s and JV’s ALM metrics used for management purposes, ensuring all models are accurate and adhere to SCF HQ and local policiesProduction/coordination of the monthly ALCO working paper, providing key analysis regarding macroeconomic changes, and industry-led data for committee member’s perusalMonitoring hedging transactions across the business and JVs. Monthly Oracle One ReportingSupport the Head of ALM and CFO to implement and strategize corporate ALM projects; including but not limited to interest rate strategy, derivative hedging strategy and liquidity managementStrong coordination and communication with local Market Risk, and Finance teams, along with JV partners and stakeholders within SCF HQ and SANUKCross-train into the Treasury Analyst role. Being able to competently carry out daily cashflow forecasts and close Treasury for SCUK and all its JV partners. Effectively cover the Treasury Analyst role on any holidays or as and when requiredCompletion of Murex reports on a daily/monthly basis. Ensuring all reports are accurate, and when required, are updated accordingly. The creation of new reports, with the help of Murex IT teams, to complete any outstanding reporting requirementsThe creation of Hedge Accounting reports and procedures as and when required; assisting Finance and Risk teams to understand Murex outputs and any reporting queries they may haveAssist Securitisation team with ad-hoc queries/tasks, effectively bridging the gap between ALM & Securitisation functionsMonitor the sensitivity and risk limits in alignment with the business Risk AppetiteWorking with the Head of ALM to complete P-process and Budget. Completion of all SCF HQ reporting packsWorking with the Head of ALM to assist in ILAAP process and completion of monthly reporting to SanUKAccurate loan profiling and month end execution of SCUK and JV funding needs with the trading deskWhen required assist in the execution of Interest Rate Swaps, understanding their impact on the business and all reporting requirementsCarry out any other tasks from time to time as may reasonably be requested within the ALM & Treasury functionAdhering to our commitment to Consumer Duty ensuring we put our customers’ needs first and set higher and clearer standards of consumer protectionWhat we’re looking for:
Finance and Economics knowledge and how markets impact hedging and swap prices.Knowledge of motor finance industry and its main driversExcellent excel skills with preferred VBA knowledgeSystem knowledge including MUREX / Bloomberg / NICS / Walker / RUMBA / GBOL / Connect / MUREXMust possess first class written and verbal communication skills and be able to effectively communicate with and present to both internal and external stakeholders across all levels of the businessMust be capable of developing coherent high-level (strategic) plans and detailed project/programme level plans, as well as following procedures and keeping clear, detailed recordsKnowledge of financial management, liquidity and interest risk managementThe ability to work under pressure and meet deadlinesUnderstanding of Derivatives and/or hedging is advantageousFinancial Services Industry experienceKnowledge of financial markets and prevalent ratesWe have a range of benefits available which include:
