Job Summary

Under the Clinical Engineering Manager, the Scope Repair Technician I handles installations, repairs, maintenance, and calibration of endoscopes.

Essential Functions of the Role

Performs installations, regular maintenance, repairs, and calibrations on assigned medical equipment to ensure proper operation and function.Performs all assignments in a competent and timely way according to current policies and procedures.Installs, repairs and calibrates most classes of flexible and inflexible endoscopes at a component level.Performs planned maintenance and electrical safety inspections as assigned.Uses diagnostic service software appropriate to the equipment being serviced.Helps in the evaluation of new equipment, accessories and supplies.Inspects incoming equipment for compliance with codes, standards, and manufacturer’s instructions.Establishes and maintains files of literature for each piece of medical equipment. This includes the manufacturer's technical literature, reference standards, specifications, and other necessary documents. These ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulatory agencies, including TJC.Accurately and legibly accounts for productive time using the department's computerized maintenance management systems.Helps with administrative record-keeping for the department. This includes work orders, maintenance history, PM and safety inspections, repairs, reports, and inventory. Ensures accurate recording of activities for code and regulatory purposes.Communicates effectively with the Clinical Engineering manager and other Biomedical Equipment Technicians. Discusses possible concerns or problems with the Clinical Engineering department and/or any medical equipment.

Has and maintains a safe driving record.Solid knowledge of computerized systems: recordkeeping, PM, work order systems, timekeeping, etc.Able to use various departmental and BSWH software programs.Able to complete and maintain any licensure or certification(s) required by the position.Have exceptional technical, mechanical, data-based and problem-solving skills.Physically able to reach, raise, work atop, move along the ground or see and work in tight and/or dim places.Able to interact and communicate with all staff and management in a positive and professional way.Able to deal with difficult situations, resolve issues and concerns in a professional way.Able to work and accomplish tasks in a stressful, fast-paced environment.

EDUCATION - H.S. Diploma/GED EquivalentEXPERIENCE - 2 Years of ExperienceCERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION - Drivers License (TXDL): If moving from out of state must obtain valid TX DL within 90 days of hire.
