Job Title: SCIS Sr. Data Engineer

Rate of Pay: $136,216 per year
Description: Design and develop Global ETL/ELT pipelines to support the expansion and utility of the Martin Brower Global Data Warehouse. In addition, this role will provide maintenance and support of Global Data Engineering solutions to ensure reliability, consistency, and relevancy of those solutions across the supply chain. As a Senior resource, this role will provide technical thought leadership to the rest of the Engineering team, taking ownership to identify and resolve support challenges, implement continuous improvement initiatives, and helping to mentor other team members. Build data pipelines for optimal extraction, transformation and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using Azure and/or Snowflake cloud development tools. Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements. Provide operational support for production ETL/ELT pipelines and related processes as needed. Facilitate production deployment of Data Engineering code/pipelines. Provide guidance to other Data Engineers on the team, ensuring the team’s standard development process is understood, adopted and enforced. Contribute to and help deliver continuous improvement initiatives designed to improve reliability, quality and scalability of Data Engineering solutions. Establish strong, strategic partnerships with key IT contacts, supply chain partners, external vendors and business end users. Participate in Martin Brower global data governance processes to ensure data is both managed and used consistently and is compliant with enterprise standards. Participate in strategic planning and execution for global projects as appropriate. Guiding and mentoring the other Data Engineers on the team. Contribute to and help deliver continuous improvement initiatives designed to improve the reliability, quality, and scalability of data engineering solutions. Other projects or duties as assigned. Telecommuting is permitted one day per week, on Fridays.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field plus 4 years of experience in Data Engineering or a related role/occupation within a global or multinational organization. Additionally, the applicant must have employment experience with: 1) SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, data warehouses, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with Oracle, SQL Server, Snowflake databases; 2) Cloud-based ETL/ELT tools using Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2, ADF Mapping Data Flows (Flowlets, Data Flow Libraries), Pipelines, Azure Functions, Triggers, and setting up Alerts/Notifications; 3) Architecting, Designing, and Building ETL/ELT Data Pipelines for optimal data extraction, transformation, and loading from a wide variety of data sources using Azure Data Factory, Snowflake, and Python cloud development tools; 4) Traditional data warehousing solutions as well as modern big data architecture, tools and techniques including Kimball data warehousing concepts, especially dimensional and fact data modeling; 5) ETL/SQL Source code configuration management using Azure Git/GitHub cloud-based tools; 6) Facilitating production deployments and release managements of Data Engineering code/pipelines using Azure Dev-Ops Tool/Solution; 7) Technical support of production solutions, troubleshooting, providing root cause analysis, and resolving the issue using the Service Now Incident Management Tool; 8) Supply Chain practices and metrics, within the distribution or Food Service industry, including DC Supply Planning, Restaurant Order Planning, Supplier Relationship Management, and metrics such as BFA, BMI, OMR, OPQ, TRF, UOM, and others; 9) Building Global Data Warehouse solutions with exposure to multiple global markets and strong, strategic partnerships with key IT contacts, supply chain partners, external vendors, and business end users; 10) Working with global business intelligence tools like Power BI and data governance tools such as Data.World; 11) Applying advanced analytics technologies and solutions such as streaming analytics, predictive algorithms, and machine learning.
