About Team:Candidate will be working as part of Thermo Fisher Scientific Research and Development in the core cell culture module. The team caters towards strengthening the company’s portfolio by supplying all the biological samples to develop and validate recombinant antibodies. We develop knockout cell models to validate and prove specificity of antibodies.
Role & ResponsibilitiesPurpose:
Thermo Fisher Scientific is looking for a Scientist who can foster innovation and improve customer results by crafting and validating cell culture procedures, materials, and supplies.
Responsibilities:Perform cell culture activities and laboratory techniques including aseptic expansion of immortalized cell lines, handling of primary cells and immortal cellsWork with stem cells and perform different types of differentiationsConduct transfections and transductionsRegular inspection of cell culture samples, including microscopy, gene expression assessment, Western blot/ELISA, and other applicable examinationsInitiate, plan, and complete scientific research with emphasis on cell culture techniques independentlyPrepare customer-facing documents, including scientific writing and publication-quality images and figuresRetain comprehensive records of cell culture parameters and results in data sheets and/or electronic notebooksResponsible for data integrity, accuracy, and analysisDeliver high-quality results according to project schedules in support of current and/or new productsSkills and ExperienceExperimental skills with attention to detail are criticalTransfection and transduction experienceDemonstrated skill in collaborating within teams and guiding junior scientistsStrong understanding and hands-on expertise with the culture of multiple mammalian cell types. The ideal candidate will have additional experience with protein biology, molecular biology, or other related subject areasExperience in primary and/or stem cell work is requiredDemonstrated skill in developing publication-quality documents. Candidates should showcase experience in publishing in peer-reviewed journals.Outstanding interpersonal skillsShould be a strong teammate, eager to learn new techniques and creatively solve problemsCandidate Requirement:Education & Experience levels:
